Song

Drakes typically have a softer, rasping call, often described as a 'raab-raab' or 'kwek'. They do not have a true song.

Calls

Hens produce the classic loud 'quack' call, often in a series. This is a distinctive feature inherited from their Mallard ancestors. Drakes' calls are much quieter and less frequent.
