Song

Tundra Swans do not have a complex song. Their vocalizations are generally described as calls.

Calls

Their calls are high-pitched, musical, and often described as a 'whoo-ho-ho' or 'woo-woo-woo' sound, resembling the sound of a clarinet or oboe. They are less resonant and lower-pitched than the bugling calls of Trumpeter Swans. They also produce a variety of hisses and grunts, especially when agitated or communicating within a flock.

When they vocalize

Vocalize frequently, especially during flight, when communicating within flocks, and when disturbed. Calls are particularly noticeable during migration and on wintering grounds.
