Key differences

While both are small, black-and-white (or brown-and-white) birds with upright postures, the male Pied Bushchat has a much more extensive white patch on the rump and wings, and lacks the prominent chestnut vent of the Indian Robin. Females are also duller brown than Indian Robin females, with less rufous on the vent.
