Key differences

The Fiery Minivet is slightly larger and has a more intense, fiery orange-red color in males, with a more extensive red patch on the wing. Females are also brighter yellow than Small Minivet females. The call of the Fiery Minivet is also distinct, often described as a more ringing 'twee-twee-twee-twee'.

Key differences

The Scarlet Minivet is significantly larger than the Small Minivet. Males have a much more extensive scarlet-red on the underparts and wing, and a full black head (not just crown/nape). Females are bright yellow and grey, but again, larger and with different patterns on the wing and tail.

Key differences

The Grey-chinned Minivet is similar in size but males have a grey chin and throat, contrasting with the black head, and the orange-red on the underparts is less extensive. Females have a yellowish-orange wash on the throat and breast, and a more olive-grey back.
