Canto

Males produce a hoarse, wheezy hiss or a soft, drawn-out 'honk'. Females have a much louder, more raucous, and repetitive 'honk-honk-honk' call, often given in alarm or during territorial displays. The female's call is often described as a 'cackling' or 'gaggling' sound.

Richiami

Alarm calls are loud and insistent, particularly from the female. Contact calls are softer. During courtship, males may produce a soft, whistling sound.

Vocalizes throughout the day, especially when disturbed, during territorial disputes, or when communicating with mates and young. Calls are more frequent during the breeding season.
