Field tips
- Listen for Calls. Their loud, raucous calls are often the first indication of their presence. Listen for high-pitched screeches, especially in the morning and late afternoon.
- Scan Tree Canopies. They spend most of their time in the upper canopy of trees. Use binoculars to scan for movement and color.
- Look for Flocks. These are social birds. If you see one, there are likely more nearby. Look for groups flying overhead or feeding together.
- Visit Fruiting Trees. Check fruiting trees, especially mangoes or other native fruit-bearing species, as they are a favored food source.
