Song

The Hadada Ibis does not have a complex song. Its vocalizations are primarily calls.

Calls

Its most distinctive and well-known call is a very loud, raucous, and far-carrying 'haa-haa-dah' or 'ha-da-da', often repeated several times, especially when taking flight, disturbed, or communicating with the flock. This call gives the bird its common name. They also produce a softer 'ha-ha-ha' call when foraging and a harsh 'kraaak' alarm call.

When they vocalize

Vocalizes frequently throughout the day, particularly at dawn and dusk when flying to and from roosts, and whenever disturbed or in flight.
