Not known for a complex song. Their primary vocalization is a distinctive, harsh, rattling call.

Calls

The most common call is a loud, guttural, rattling 'karr-karr-karr-karr' or 'crek-crek-crek-crek' often given with the head thrown back. This call is frequently associated with territorial displays or excitement. They also produce a variety of clucking and squawking sounds.

When they vocalize

Most vocal during breeding season, territorial disputes, or when agitated. Calls can be heard throughout the day.
