Song

Albatrosses do not have a complex song. Vocalizations are generally limited to various calls.

Calls

A range of guttural croaks, grunts, groans, clacks, and whines, primarily used during courtship displays, territorial disputes at the colony, and greeting rituals between mates. They are generally silent at sea.

When they vocalize

Mainly during the breeding season at the colony, particularly during courtship, nesting, and chick-rearing. Rarely vocalize at sea.
