While not having a distinct 'song' in the traditional sense, Noisy Miners have a complex repertoire of calls that serve various social functions. These include a loud, repetitive 'pwee-pwee-pwee' or 'pee-pee-pee' often given as an alarm or territorial call, and a softer, more conversational 'chur-chur-chur' within the colony.

Calls

Their most characteristic call is a loud, metallic 'pwee-pwee-pwee' or 'chip-chip-chip' often repeated rapidly. They also have a variety of alarm calls, contact calls, and mobbing calls, including a harsh 'churr' or 'squawk' when agitated. Their vocalizations are almost constant within a colony.
