Brown-headed Barbet song and calls

Song

A loud, monotonous, and repetitive 'kutroo-kutroo-kutroo' or 'kurook-kurook-kurook' call, often likened to a coppersmith hammering. The call can be sustained for long periods, sometimes for several minutes without a break, and is often given from a high perch within the canopy.

Calls

In addition to the primary song, they have various softer contact calls and alarm calls, including a sharp 'kik' or 'chick' when disturbed.

When they vocalize
