The Laughing Dove is significantly smaller and more slender than the Eurasian Collared Dove. The Collared Dove has a solid black half-collar on its hindneck, whereas the Laughing Dove has a finely spotted 'necklace'. The Collared Dove is paler, more greyish-buff, and lacks the vinous-pink tones of the Laughing Dove. Their calls are also distinct.
