4. Check Rump in Flight. The white oval patches on the rump, visible in flight, are a reliable identification feature for all plumages.

Migrazione

Long-distance migratory. Breeds in the Arctic and sub-Arctic regions of Eurasia and migrates south to wintering grounds in Africa, southern Europe, and Asia. Migration occurs in broad fronts, often with stopovers at suitable wetland sites.
