Song

Anhingas are generally quiet birds. They do not have a complex song.

Calls

Primarily vocalizes with a series of low, guttural grunts, croaks, and clicks, especially around the nest or when disturbed. Young birds make begging calls. A harsh 'ka-ka-ka' or 'karrr' may be heard during courtship or aggression.
