Eurasian Reed Warbler song and calls

Song

A fast, repetitive, chattering, and often scratchy song, typically delivered from within dense reeds or from a prominent reed stem. It consists of a rapid series of 'karr-karr-karr-karr' or 'chirrup-chirrup-chirrup' notes, often interspersed with harsher 'churr' sounds. It can be quite monotonous but energetic.

Calls

A sharp, hard 'churr' or 'tack' call, often given when alarmed or agitated. Also a softer 'tchek' or 'tuc' call.

When they vocalize

Males sing frequently during the breeding season, from arrival in spring until late summer, primarily in the morning and evening, but also throughout the day. Calls are given year-round, especially when disturbed.
