The Common Tern does not have a complex song. Its vocalizations are primarily calls.

Richiami

A distinctive, sharp, and often repeated 'kee-arr' or 'kier-ick' call, often described as a 'screaming' sound. Also a shorter, sharper 'kit-kit-kit' alarm call when disturbed or mobbing predators. During courtship, a softer 'kew-kew-kew' may be heard.
